Dalian issued measures requiring insulation materials to have flame retardant function

Building insulation materials are classified into four grades of A, B1, B2 and B3 flammable according to the fire performance. The Dalian Municipal Safety Commission Office issued the “Notice on Strengthening the Supervision and Management of the Safety Use of Building Insulation Materials”, which requires the use of Class A or B1 grade products for the insulation materials of new buildings and civil buildings.

It is reported that the area of ​​Dalian's external thermal insulation materials exceeds 6.2 million square meters. One tenth of them are flammable insulation materials. According to the latest notice issued by the Municipal Safety Committee Office, buildings and parts that use flammable insulation materials must be hoisted with warning signs of “no fire” and a fire safety system. Relevant departments and units shall formulate corrective measures and timetables for the safety hazards of the use of combustible building insulation materials.
